Perhaps move the dbx and mbx files to another directory, restart Outlook
express and see if it will start with no local folders. If it will the
folders are probably corrupted. (dunno how to recover your existing emails)
If it doesn't then it is not the folders :(

Outlook Express doesn't use a PST. It uses a DBX or MBX files.

Bad PST file maybe? Try running scanpst.exe on your PST file that OE is
using.

Subject: problem with outlook express

I am having a problem getting outlook express to load and I was wondering if
any of the outlook experts out there could help me with it. I am running
Win 2K prof and when I load outlook express it just hangs. If never fully
loads and the msimn.exe file is taking up to 99% of cpu time. I eventually
have to kill the process. I have tried reloading IE 5.5 and even upgraded
to IE 6 with no luck. Any ideas would help. I need outlook for access to
newsgroups. If any one knows of a good newsgroup reader I would appreciate
that also.
