Apart from Kevins reason, do you really want to host internal/external DNS
on one box. Its failure will result in no one [1] being able to visit your
sites, no one internally being able to do most things[2]
Opens you to a denial of service attacks, DNS poisoning on the box that will
result in failure - see above

Bind probably has a worse security history than MS DNS ,check

5&ws=1&la=&qm=0&st=1&nh=25&lk=1&rf=2&oq=&rq=0&si=1&qt=bind

compared to

qc=&pw=100%25&ws=1&la=en&qm=0&st=1&nh=25&lk=1&rf=2&rq=0&si=1

[1] no one that has not visited for the last day or so - whatever your ttl
is
[2] apart from the machines they have already visited that day or since the
machine was turned on

DDNS and outside DNS NEED to be kept on separate boxes. Period. Don't
even think about arguing that one.

Did I just say that out loud?

Well, this box suppose to be replacing our current BIND and MS DNS. The
idea here is that they wanted to centrallize our DNS. I thought I
heard the cost around $7k or something like that.

It's a box? OK, tell me why your company wants to pay for some thing
that is already included free with what you have?? How much are those
things?

If you take the flash tour at their site, it says it is DDNS and AD
compliant.

Never heard of DNSOne, does it support DDNS? If you are going AD, it is
a must have.

We're looking to implement AD at our place and the Network Manager
wanted to bring the new DNSOne from Infobox to host DNS and DHCP, the
software runs on Linux box. All I want to know is if any issue with
this combination out there. Ofcourse, I'd prefer W2K DNS, but I make
the call around here, unless there is a known problem with this DNSOne.
