No, there aren't any power loads that kick in. In 2 of the environments, the power is completely conditioned and probably the cleanest I've seen around. And the problem occurs in multiple locations around the country.
And even if it was power, I'd have a real problem with a computer company that couldn't make servers that would run on the same power source that other vendor's servers can. If I have to go around to all my buildings and re-wire or purchase some special power conditioner just to make a run-of-the-mill server work, then the server is a piece of garbage, IMHO. -Chris -----Original Message----- From: Meade, Devin [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, March 20, 2002 3:04 PM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: RE: Spontaneous Reboots on Dell w/Win2K with NO TRACE! Absolute M yste ry! Some more thoughts, If you don't want to install any more software, try a probe. I purchased a few "Dual Temp Monitor Racks" from www.coolerguys.com for $26. I removed them from the 5.25 tray - the probes are very small and can check just about anything. Also I have seen temp/humidity recorders - they can take samples for 24 hours or a whole week. You may want to look for one of these to record environmental conditions. Also, are there any large electrical loads that may pull a bunch of amps (like a compressor kicking on) on the power circuit? Absolute M yste ry! To do a good heat test... Go to http://mbm.livewiredev.com/ and download Motherboard Monitor 5. Once you get Motherboard Monitor 5 working and giving you CPU temps, go to http://users.ev1.net/~redelm/ and download the CPU BURN. Run the CPU BURN and watch the temp on Motherboard Monitor 5. See if the temp goes up and the system shuts down. If it shuts down, it will do it within seconds. Jacob At 11:21 AM 3/20/2002 -0600, you wrote: >Do you monitor the temperature?
