Either mentioned on this or one of the others was that if you need to keep
your server, but don't want to migrate it to win2k and AD, you can use a
tool called U-promote to demote your BDC to a member server. 3rd party app,
non-microsoft supported, but others have given it good reviews. Never tried
it myself. Check out http://www.algintech.com/UTools/UPromote.asp

Subject: General Question about PDC and BDC before migrating to AD

My PDC is NT4 and I plan on rebuilding it as Win2k DC, setting it up in
Mixed mode. My BDC is also NT4... which I would like to keep it as NT4 due
to hardware issues. Will this NT4 BDC be able to access the Win2k network as
just a member server? Everywhere I look it seems that the only way to keep
it NT4 is to REINSTALL, If anyone has any input / suggestions on easier ways
please help
