Thanks Mr. JoeUser, but I think you misunderstood my question. I'm personally not looking to replace my current firewall solution, so I am not about to dive into doing a lot of research into why I would go with Winroute Pro as oppose to any other firewalls. However, the thread has my interest and the question is similar to asking why Firewall-1 is better then Raptor (or vise versa), or how is Hardware based firewalls better then software based...etc.
The question was orginally posted as, "does anyone run winroute pro as their firewall?". The various answers have been varied. "Yes, with success" does not tell me much, except that the user seems to be happy with the software...but I don't know what the definition of success is for that user; It may very well be different from my definition of success. Andrew did answer better that he liked the Packet filtering with Winroute Pro. That was sort-of helpful. I imagine he had configured others and is reflecting that this product may have better features and functionality in the packet filtering catagory of what firewall software are suppose to do. If I were in the firewall market, what are the major reasons why Winroute Pro is a better firewall choice to the others out there? (I think going to kerio's web site would give me a bias opinion on that, don't you think?) Is it price and features? Is it the easy of configuration? etc...
