My colleges have done this and determined that 32kb block size works the best. I haven't seen many reports of people reaching a lot more than 130mb per minute. LTO and AIT 2-3 Claim some thing like 100Gbin only a couple of hours" I don't remember exactly how fast but I could look it up". Is the bottle neck the tech or the software. Anyone using Veritas Backup exec with LTO or AIT??

We are using Veritas that I like a lot but we need more speed. We use DLT8000 robot library and get about 120-130mb a minute. We have millions of little files over about 200GB. It takes us about 30 hours to do a full backup. I guess it wouldn't to just ask what you are using that is faster than mine, 30 hours just won't do.
