Create a new w2k images with the integrated SP2 (on the RIS server). Then I assume install IE 6 (so that you can check for hotfixes on it) and all other apps you will use. Run RIPREP. Create that install image. Then whenever you run the image back to the machine, then use qchain for the required updates... Correct? Thanks for all the help ------ Dustin -----Original Message----- From: Morgan, Joshua [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: April 24, 2002 11:30 AM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: RE: Adding SP2 to a cd-based image on a RIS server I apply them to each machine and use Qchain to install them Joshua Morgan PH: (864) 250-1350 Ext 133 [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.profit-lab.com http://ncontrol.info -----Original Message----- From: W2K Discussions [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, April 24, 2002 2:08 PM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: RE: Adding SP2 to a cd-based image on a RIS server I'm going to also run into the same issue with all the hotfixes as well aren't I? I need to apply them against the RIS server as well. What is the best way to download all the hotfix files so that I can do this? ------ Dustin -----Original Message----- From: Morgan, Joshua [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: April 23, 2002 6:27 PM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: RE: Adding SP2 to a cd-based image on a RIS server Funny you would ask that question...I just redid my RIS environment here ya go You can create a new CD image with SP2 slipstreamed onto it and add all required POST SP2 Hotfix's so that they are applied with the initial source at time of build. Instead of explaining how in an email I recommend that you read the guide 'Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack Installation and Deployment Guide' which can be found at 'http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/default.asp?url=/TechNet/prodtech nol/windows2000serv/support/spdeploy.asp'. It has all the information you need regarding Integrating SP, and Hotfix's into RIS (and any other) images. -----Original Message----- From: W2K Discussions [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, April 23, 2002 9:09 PM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: Adding SP2 to a cd-based image on a RIS server Ok - I had setup my RIS server, and used a base w2k cd to do so. I have now created my machine exactly how I need it. I went to run RIPREP, and I am getting an error regarding the version of windows. Searched the kb, and I know the issue is because I have installed SP2 for w2k on my machine. Is there a way to add SP2 to my image on the server, so that it will allow me to image the machine with RIPREP?
