We have Norton and get the same event log saying access denied during the
scan fills the log every night. We tried some tricks Norton gave us with no
luck. It is so bad we have started ignoring it. We do not have any of the
other problems though. I try very hard not to install anything from CA like
ArcServe it just never seems to go well for me.

Subject: ArcServe and Norton Anti-Virus

Hi Folks..
Anyone facing problems with Arcserve exchange 2000 agent and symantecs
norton anti-virus... we have exchange 2000 with SP1 and using arcserve
agent for 2000 server to back up .. .and also norton anti-virus
enterprise edition including the exchange eagents... problems with both
of them
Event logs show that the anti-virus was not able to scan some folders..
says access was denined and also reports that updates of the signatures
failed... then the next thing...it reports an admin.dll file as nimda
virus.. and says that it found a virus on the scans .. that the name of
the virus is nimda... the file name is admin.dll located on c: .. didnt
clean it or delete it.. but leave alone succeeded..
Arcserve exchange backup////.. fails to perform the brick level
backups... fails to backup the mailboxes and the public folder
contents.. says that access was denied... but the entire database gets
backed up OK... no probs with that.. any help guys...
Yeah yeah .. theres a lottts fires buring here... need your help to put
them all out.
and guys... theres more to follow.. hang on.
