1. Use a backup system that handles NT registries.  I use Vertias
BackupExec.

2. RDisk.exe.  can copy to a floppy if the registry is small enough.
There's a KB article on how to restore if it doesn't fit on a floppy.

3. Using RegEdit.exe you can Export the hives to be changed to a text .reg
file.  If something gets hinky you can import the .reg file to overwrite the
changes.

4. Using RegEdt32.exe you can use SaveKey to export the hive to a non-text
file which can later be Restored.

5. You could try coping the .dat files to another location.  In order to
restore them you will need to access the folders using another operating
system.

6. Upgrade to Win2K and use NTBackup.exe to backup the system state which
will include the registry.
