What do you mean by configured? registry should not be that large. this machine was built up from scratch.

It is corrupt, absent, or not writable. I have gone to MS web site and their fixes don't work. Just today the 3rd machine in my org had this happen and I would love to figure out what is going on here. We have dell machines here in case that matters.
