Is it a good ideal to use TCP/IP filters in TCP/IP Security tab to specifying what ports are allowed inbound (TCP or UDP) on a network adapter. Assuming I am running a web server to the public, is it a good practice to open just port 80 to the outside world, don't forget the same system running my DNS server. Cheers!

If that is so, then your DHCP's scope is still the same, thus...the system is still setup like when you were at the old location. That could explain why the the old office's IP still works. We recently moved office premises and i those of you who remember i said that someone else set up the network here. Now the problem i have is that ppl can't log on to the net (sometimes) if i dont' put in a dns entry into their dns settings...but very bright and blonde me (sorry all blondes) have just realized that the DNS ip no i put in is from our old premises and yet its still working Now how do i find out what our DNS ip addie is here, is it just our normal IP addie to our network? 2ndly Howcome it works when i put in the ip from our old offices? Our ip's are dynamically assigned via DHCP shouldn't it be the same for DNS? (yes i am doing the network infrastructure course soon) bear wiff me :( ------ You are subscribed as [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe send a blank email to %%email.unsub%% ------ You are subscribed as [EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe send a blank email to %%email.unsub%% ------ You are subscribed as [email protected] Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
