I have a datacenter with ~100 servers. I would like to get away from our current KVM solution and instead only plug in KVM when needed.
The servers will boot OK without a keyboard or mouse attached, but I can not then put one in and have the OS recognize them. Does anyone have a solution for this? I would like to just have a cart that has KVM on it that I can attach only when needed. Since Terminal Services we very rarely actually need to log directly into the servers and the money spent on KVM seems a little much for the occasional access we require.
