Looks like you're in a dilly of a pickle (Sorry, favourite Ned Flanders
quote).

My initial thoughts (for what they are worth - and I am happy to be
corrected by the more learned ones out there) - You are asking for trouble
introducing a new server with a different IP and trying to name it the same.
Easier path (believe me) is to introduce new server gradually, and notify
employees accordingly.

However, it sounds like there are entries on the machine(s) you are using to
connect to the server, or the entries in DNS/WINS (think about why are you
needing to run both) that are conflicting. My advice would be to change the
entries you made for server 1 to new IP BACK to new server name new IP.
Distribute the names of the new print queues to users as UNC's, and when
they click on them, whammo, they have to install them.
