Win2K RRAS does work with an NT 4.0 PDC as that is what I have set up here.
You may want to make sure that you are getting a valid IP address when you
are connected. Also, try pinging your PDC once you are connected both by IP
address and servername. If you don't get a response when pinging by server
name, try adding LMHOSTS entries on the workstation pointing to that domain
controller.

IIRC, it took me a week of playing around to finally get it working
properly.

Subject: RRAS configuration.... HELP in Mixed Domain...

I just recently... last night took down our NT 4.0 RAS server in order to
swap the parts over to a 2000 server. Well all went as planned except for
a small problem... WHEN I DIALED INTO IT I WAS GETTING NO DOMAIN
CONTROLLER AVAILABLE! I am questioning wether or not you can even set up a
RRAS (Win2K server) without having a Win2K Domain Controller (with Active
Directory). See my PDC is just that a NT 4.0 PDC which I was hoping to
make the last maching to swap out to a 2000 DC. I recieved a message that
the Win2K server needed Active Directory before this machine could be used
as a RRAS server. Is this so, I cannot even set this machine up without
have Active Directory and allow users to dial in... or is there another
way. I cannot find documentation on this please help!
