I don't think that Word associates with the works file extension so you
can't just double click on them (unless you do it manually).  I do think
that you can open them through word via an import filter.  Works (at
least the last version I used) uses the .wps file extension.

Has she tried just browsing to the file in Word and opening it?  I'd be
surprised if it didn't work, it's probably just an rtf or similar
extension in Works.

Now that Works 2000 does not come with its own word processor but
instead come with Word, Does anyone know of a converter?  I have a user
who used the works word processor that came on her Win95 machine but now
she has got a WinXP with Works 2000 and it has Word.  She doesn't want
