Robert,

We have used PQDI for two client deployments (about 60 PC's each time).
Have not used Norton Ghost. Based on what I hear, both will do about the
same. IMO, I do think Ghost is a little more common in the field - but I
have no complaints about PQDI. Also, I think MS says that if you have a
varied client hardware profile - use RIS.

(1) We setup a client machine (2) Ran setupmgr.exe to create a customized
sysprep folder (3) copied this sysprep folder to the base machine (4) ran
sysprep.exe - which shutdown the system. From here we made a bunch of CD's
of it. We can boot the CD, tell it the machine name and give it a domain
admin username/password to add it to the domain and we are good to go. I
think you can copy the image to the network - we just wrote CD's.

We setup a dummy user profile to capture any profile changes. When it is
deployed, (1) we login to the domain as the user (2) log back out (3) login
as an admin (4) use ctl panel/system/user profiles to copy the dummy profile
over the users profile and we get just about all the profile settings we
need.

We maintain two hardware profiles so we have two images.

Could I please get some comments/views on this from a client
deployment/re-imaging stand-point.

Thanks
