Faith,

Log on as administrator, and go to: Start > Run and type dcpromo.exe.

That will promote your member server to be a domain controller, thus
installing Active Directory.

Be sure BEFORE YOU START that your DNS structure is planned (if not in
place), and that you know what domain structure you want to have.
