GuildFTP is doing a great job and I have adopted it as a test. Already much better than using the FTP Service. GuildFTP does not come as a service? Well, I don't usually run FTPD on windows servers. The FTP protocol( in various implementations) has been plagued with security problems. So when ever possible I try to use SFTP in conjunction with SSH. Clear text passwords are just bad. With that said, I too have been forced to use the FTPD service included with IIS. The admin interface is easy to use. It has worked great for me in the past.
