When you click OK or CANCEL where?  The original question stated that it was
skipping the logon screen, and going directly to the desktop.

In that case you (usually) get a "No domain controller...." message, on
which you click OK or CANCEL.

I've seen this happen if it is configured for DHCP, but fails to receive a
DHCP address.

Also make sure that check the box to log on to NT domain checked and put the
name of the domain in the box.
