Hi All, we recently setup a small network with a single Active Directory Controller that ran DNS, DHCP and Active Directory. This was all working fine but we had to change the IP address scheme on that network. We changed the server IP address to the new range, deleted all the host records from the DNS server that pointed to the old IP range and let them be recreated when a new IP was leased. We also deleted and re-created the DHCP scope.
It all seemed to be working fine until the next morning when we went to look at the Active Directory Users and Computers tool. Opening the tool delivers the message: 'Naming information cannot be located because : The logon attempt failed' At this point, we are unable to administer users on the network. I have also noticed that the operations masters are all showing as being offline. At this point however, it seems that most users are still working on the network. Can anyone suggest what might have happened here that is causing this problem. The event log of this particular server does not have any glaring amounts of error however in the application log, there is an event ID 1000 stating 'Windows cannot determine the user or computer name. Return value 1326' as yet I have not deciphered its meaning. If anyone can offer any help it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. ------ You are subscribed as [email protected] Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
