to determine where it is going through their fw (which internal system it's
NAT'ed to.) Is the SMTP service running on the Exchange server? Is the IMS
service running? Are all Exchange services running?

Subject: Exchange Server problems

Hello:

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this. If not please let me
know, and I can try somwhere else.

I am helping out a friend that is out of town so I didn't set up this
network. Also I am not by any means an Exchange guru.

Here is what they have:

Exchange 5.5
NT 4.0 Domain

Yesterday morning all inbound and outbound emails quit working. When I send
a message to it I get a SMTP 550 host unknown error. I called their ISP
thinking it was a DNS problem, and they said everything should be working
fine.

I ran mtacheck.exe to make sure an email wasn't stuck or corrupted.

Does anybody have any ideas that might help me out? There is another domain
with another Exchange server (remember I didn't set it up) sharing the same
T1 that is working fine.

Any help will be greatly appreciated...

Thanks in advance...
Brian
