Exchange 2000 supports POP3 natively, I don't know why it is not working for
you. I think it might be that it comes under IIS and that it is added when
Exchange is installed. I can't remember because I am not in front of an
Exchange 2000 box, but from the Exchange 2000 server telnet to port 110, if
you get a response on this port then POP3 is working. You may also want to
consider IMAP instead of POP3, IMAP stores messages on the Exchange server
and synchronises with the client, therefore if you loose the client you
still have the messages on the server. Most clients that support POP3 will
support IMAP. I know Outlook Express and Outlook both support IMAP.

Paul

I just want to know if there is possible to use POP3 on a Exchange 2000
server?

I know it is possible on a Small Business Server but not on a ordinary
installation, why?

If there is possible to do this on a regular Exchange installation, how
can I do it?

I don't get this are you wanting to use Exchange 2000 to receive mails
from
the internet from a POP3 server or do you want your users to be able to
use
POP3 to access your Exchange server?

My specs are:

- Exchange 2002 server, the company is going to use POP3 just a few
months. And we hope that we could use POP3 one the Exchange server to
get a backup of the mails on the server.

Do you get this?

It is possible (there are 3rd party utils) but it is not advisable.

What are the specifics of your scenario?

Hello!

Is it possible to install a POP3 exchanger on a Exchange 2002 server?
