Hi all, I've got a test machine I'm using to learn exchange. Unfortunately, due to a lack of extra machines, it's setup as a single AD controller/exchange server.
Yesterday, I was tinkering with the domain controller/domain/local security policy settings. Well, now the server can't send mail. My smtp queue is piling up my test message, those internal to internal, internal to ext, and ext to internal msgs are all just sitting. Queues are ready and active. I'm getting no errors with my exchange services, smtp service, or in the event viewer. I turned on extra diag logging for the MSEexchange transport and MSExchangeIS mailbox settings but haven't seen any warnings or failures in the event viewer. Since the only changes I made since the death of mail service have been the security policy settings I tried to set back what I had changed. But, I've missed something somewhere. I was mostly changing the Local Policies -> User Rights Assignment area. Mainly the logon locally settings, access this computer from the network settings, and Manage auditing and security log settings. So, I'm asking the group for help. I'm looking for a listing or description of what security policy settings are necessary for proper smtp mail delivery so I can get things back in order. Or perhaps a method of resetting them to what exchange needs, if this is possible. Thanks in advance for any assistance. -Chris B ------ You are subscribed as [email protected] Archives: http://www.swynk.com/sitesearch/search.asp To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
