Yes we use lantronx print servers. It's better because you set up the PC's as a local printer so every user who signs in has the printer configured. IMO the bad thing about windows network printers is that the printer is installed per user profile. Plus if the printer server dies , nobody can print.

You plug your network cable into that, give it an ip and your done. No print server required. Just setup the clients as if they were printing to a local printer using the ip as the port. Doesn't solve your current problem, but just FYI. Does the Event Log give you any clues? What SP is on the machine? Can folder shares from that server be seen? Are you using Std TCP/IP printing ports or HP's TCP/IP ports or something different? Although no issues were encountered during the reboot, we have lost the use of our printers across the network. We are using HP Jet Direct and the printers are shared from the server itself. They all appear in the 'Printers' applet, but we can't connect to any of them. If we try and delete the port, we get errors and if we create new ports, everything looks OK, but we still can't connect to the printer. We can ping the printers - which are statically addressed - so the issue isn't network related. What else could it be ? Any ideas ?
