We have been using surf control and have had many problems We are running it on a 1Ghz PIII with 1 GB RAM and mirrored 18 GB HDD Using a 3com 980 server NIC and storing the data on another server running SQL 2000
We have had many problems with the server getting overload errors, locking up, many problems getting it to block site properly, and getting it to log info into the database. I am not the primary tech on that project so I don't have all of the details but I do know that it has been a headache -------------------------------- Rob Weatherly -------------------------------- -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, March 03, 2003 10:36 AM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: Re: Web content filtering We've been using Surfcontrol and we have had no problems with it. It looks like it is being discontinued in 10/2003. What do you recommend for a web content filter? Surfcontrol at around $2500 seems to bubble up to the top of the list. We use Trend's Officescan corporate - their web filter any good? Websense, N2H2 seem to be popular as well. It looks like at least $2000 and a fairly quick machine for 100 users, any recommendations?
