For now. After they are forced by the courts, they will include an implementation of Sun's version. Sorry to say as I have had nothing but headaches with the Sun version.
In the meantime SP1 has it included. SP1a has it removed because that is what the courts and Sun said they had to do. MS will continue to support their version with security updates, but only via Windows Update so as to prevent it being separately obtained. I've noticed this as I'm unable locate this anywhere. I have SP1 installed on my xp boxes but I'm thinking this doesn't include the VM, so what's the deal with this? Anyone know if MS plans on releasing any updates anytime in the near future, or is it something we just have to WAIT on? FYI: Microsoft pulled Java VM out of Windows XP Service Pack 1a. They also removed the separate downloads from their website. -----Original Message----- From: Adam Smith [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Sunday, March 02, 2003 5:02 PM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: Re: What's the deal with XP or IE6 and Java? Anyone here You may not have the Microsoft Virtual Machine component installed. It ships with Windows XP Service Pack 1.
