The only people able to reach the shares were those in the Admin group. In the end I was forced to re-install. -----Original Message----- From: Martin Blackstone [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, March 24, 2003 10:20 AM To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: RE: users lost shared directories every after 10-15 hours What are the client machines running? -----Original Message----- From: THAVEEWAT VASAVAKUL [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, March 24, 2003 8:08 AM To: NT 2000 Discussions Hello, I am running on a Win2K server with following specs: Win2K sp3 1GB MEM 50GB HDD 80 users shared data folders Problem: After running for about 10 -15 hours, the users could not access the shared folders even I tried to click the shared directoires at the server itself. For example, when clicking C drive at the server, I can see all files. But if I clicked the mapped drive //server/c$ in MyComputer, the drive could not be accessed. The server came back to normal upon rebooting, but it happens again after 10-15 hours. Is this a cause of low memory? The server has 600MB available. Notes: 1. During the accessing problem, the server can be pinged both name and ip address 2. During the accessing problem, the server accepts telnet port 25 and terminal services. 3. I went to MyComputer-> manage -> down to system information->network connections, I found my server's shared dirctories listed with local drive names and remote names, but the status were degraded on its all shared directories. Anyone has idea? Thanks for your help.
