Thanks for the warning. The PC in question is about 4 or 5 years old, and I
am hoping this won't be an issue. If it is, I will just have to get one of
these Promise ATA controllers I guess.

The only XP machines I have usesd are ones I have installed for other
people. It looked flashy enough and easy to use (if you like that sort of
thing), but I am definitely in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mode with
Windows 2000 Prof. machines, especially with SP3 installed.
