Never mind that post. Stupid me just remembered there are lots of software that reveals the passwords behind the ******* in the password fields, so being stored in the registry is of minor importance.
Thanks anyway Filipe Joel de Almeida -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Filipe Joel de Almeida Sent: tera-feira, 1 de Abril de 2003 0:14 To: NT 2000 Discussions Subject: Passwords stored in the Registry - Safety issue? Hi, I have some programs that need to access the internet (the anti-virus is one of them) and require a Username and Password. I've found out that they store the username and password on the registry. The password is apparently "encoded". Is there anyway for a user with to decrypt that information, or is it safe to have it there? Thanks in advance for any help or input.
