Create a new website. Call it webmail.samsaraplc.com Create a new cert req from that instance. make sure to use name, not IP!!!!!!
2 options
Install the cert to the old site (should take - i've done it a few times) and you're done
Install it to the new site and make/create the exchange, exadmin and the rest of the exchange virtual folders as in the old site (just make the fields the same)
Once that is done, change the port on the old site to something other than 80/443. Test
Are you adding a UPN in AD fro the new name?

We have an Exchange 2000 server with a cert installed for webmail.profectus.co.uk.
We have taken over profectus, so we want the URL to become webmail.samsaraplc.com.
Conveniently, the profectus cert expires soon, so I figured I won't bother renewing, and just get a cert for the new name.
So I log onto the server, and run the IIS cert wizard, but it just gives me the option to renew or remove the existing cert.
Is there a way of generating a cert request in this situation?
Can I create a new website on the server and use that? Or even generate the request on another server then import the cert when I get it?
