Hi Gerard,

you can use the following method, it is very dirty but it works and
give you what you want.

\setupcaption[figure][distance=\zeropoint]
\defineconversion[gobble][\gobbleoneargument]
\setupnumber[figure][conversion=gobble]
\setuplabeltext[figure=]

\starttext
\completelistoffigures
\page
\placefigure{First Figure}{\blackrule[width=4cm,height=2cm]}
\placefigure{Second Figure}{\blackrule[width=3cm,height=5cm]}
\stoptext
