Retext seems to have better support than MarkdownPad for some pandoc
markdown extensions like footnotes:

The whole paragraph can be indented, or just the first
line. In this way, multi-paragraph footnotes work like
multi-paragraph list items.
This paragraph won't be part of the note, because it isn't indented.

In the html/live-preview Retext gives you a jumpback from the footnote to
the original line... very nice.
