Luca, since you're probably offline for the weekend, I'll take
a stab at fixing this, but it looks like y'all forgot to upload
some of the changed files from your static buffer elimination.
Leastwise the cvs doesn't compile.
Also, the new purge internval constant is missing from globals-defines.h.
Please look 'em over and fix anything you don't like.
