I was previously using an old version of NTop and it was very useful for tracking home network usage from my work place. However, the newer version (4.0.1) which I bought because the old version failed to work on my mew computer, generates such a huge amount of network traffic (for its graphics?) that it significantly affects the network its monitoring and over a 448Kb/s broadband connection its very slow.
Is it possible to run NTop with graphics limited to low-res, or even eliminate them completely? Otherwise I can no longer use it for remote monitoring even though I've now paid for the latest Win32 release. Alternatively, does anyone have any ideas about why version 3.89 (iirc) won't work on a new Shuttle Glamour WinXP machine when it worked fine on a Shuttle XPC WinXP system? I've forgotten the error message but it basically started and instantly exited. In fact, I don't think there was an error message - just a "failed to start" message in the event log. I reinstalled it from clean several times to no avail. Sorry folks, I know most NTop users are on some flavour of linux but there are good reasons why I have to use Windoze. -- Mike Hobbs _______________________________________________ Ntop mailing list [email protected] http://listgateway.unipi.it/mailman/listinfo/ntop
