Can you access the database directly and check to see if the data is being stored? Any errors in syslog about unable to connect to the db instance?

I'm using the latest version of ntopng and I've enabled the SQL server connection (using -F), but it doesn't seem to be saving the flow information. For example, if I select my interface and then select 'Historical' it shows me the traffic graph, but on the bottom section under 'IPv4' and 'IPV6', it says 'No results found.' What am I doing wrong?
