Hello everybody

Luca - thanks for an excellent program when it's working, but ... I'm still
having problems with NTOP - synced CVS 09/10/01.

After a period of time that varies in length, I get the following:

10/Oct/2001:02:45:51 updateDbHostsTraffic(device=0)
**10/Oct/2001:02:46:50 Purging Idle Hosts... (ignoreIdleTime=0, actDevice=0)

The commandline used to start ntop was: /usr/bin/ntop -i eth0 -w 3000 -S 1
-b localhost:4000 -r 60 -u root -P /var/lib/ntop
I compiled with the following options: ./configure --prefix=/usr
--with-gdbm-root=/usr/local/lib --enable-mysql --disable-ossl
--disable-gdchart

The CVS server isn't allowing download of gdchart at the moment, so I'm not
charting.

hostsInfo.db is 6MB in size. There are 445 hosts logged in mySQL, but there
are over 1500 logged in the NameMapper.

I found that ntop refused to start without the -P option even though it was
logging to mySQL.

I can't find a core dump, but it may be disabled (how?)

I'm not a guru, but I know the following: I'm running on SUSE 7.1, with
libpcap 0.6.2, lsof 4.58, gdbm 1.8

Can anyone help? If this is insufficent info, let me know what you'd need
and how to get it.

I desperately need the network stats!

Thanks in advance

Richard
