Nothing like that that I'm aware of - but I'm not stressing it that much.
There are some searches through the data structures that could be the
problem (probably should add some counters to info.html for # of hosts, #
sessions, etc.) You might post a textinfo.html report so we can see the
counts that are there...

Can you run with -K (--enable-debug) - that should enable the automated
backtrace so we can see why it's crashing.

--enable-debug mode does three things...

1. The automated backtrace (if available, i.e. gcc compiler)
2. Does NOT fork on the "read only" http requests
3. Prints the mutex status on info.html page.

If you're concerned (esp. re #2), then just edit the line in initialize.c:

  if(myGlobals.debugMode) {
    /* Activate backtrace trap on -K flag */
    setsignal(SIGSEGV, cleanup);
  }

to remove the if test

Subject: Re: [Ntop] limiting amount of memory

I'm testing/using ntop at an ISP, monitoring the network traffic via the
netflow plugin, I keep up with each new daily snapshot (it crashes or
makes the machine become unresponsive still in this scenario), I have
768MB of RAM/Dual Celeron 466, Linux 2.4.18 kernel it will last about a
day. Seems to crash many times while looking at the web interface.

MIKE
