First off move to a supported version - at least 2.2c and preferable the cvs version. intop and mySql are both dead giveaway that you're looking at 1.3.
Try reading the current docs/FAQ - there's a lot more in there about everything than the version you've looked at. If nothing else, there's one no more that a month old at http://www.ntopsupport.com. Esp. the sections on memory usage. -----Burton > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Thursday, January 08, 2004 2:32 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: [Ntop] NTOP Setup Method Question (least overhead) > > > > > > > > After reviewing the docs and options: ntop, intop, nflow, nprobe ... , I'm > still not sure > of the correct method (if any) to setup NTOP to achieve the following > goals: > - Gathering statistics from 2 or 3 interfaces on a IPTables > Firewall/Router > (bytes, packets, errors, src hosts, dest hosts, src ports, > dest ports) > - Using the least amount of overhead (RAM, CPU) > - Using an internal host (mysql, syslog, plain text) to store stats > and view from web page. > > > Thanks for your help. > David > > > > _______________________________________________ > Ntop mailing list > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > http://listgateway.unipi.it/mailman/listinfo/ntop > _______________________________________________ Ntop mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://listgateway.unipi.it/mailman/listinfo/ntop
