First off, I have no direct experience with nBox or IDE flash card readers. This information is based on other PC hardware experience.
I assume that you found a way to properly copy the image to the card (dd, rawrite, or some other direct image copier - not copy, cp, drag and drop, or xcopy). For reference, though, which program did you use (and from which OS)? Does the BIOS setup screen on your computer recognize the drive? If it _DOES NOT_ recognize the drive: - check the master/slave jumper. I'm not sure about the card readers, but some drives have separate jumper settings for the master drive, especially if it is the only drive on the channel; some require it to be set to master and others have yet another setting for "this is the only drive." - Another thing to check is your IDE cable. Is it a standard cable or a cable select (CS) cable? CS cables will usually have their connectors labeled "master" and "slave" or similar. Also, they may have tiny holes punched through 2 of the wires. - Make sure that your cable is plugged in the right direction (red wire lines up with pin 1). Most cables are keyed to prevent a mismatch, but some cables or devices are not keyed. If the BIOS _DOES_ recognize the drive: - check to see that it recognizes it as the correct size. I would assume that it would appear in the neighborhood of 128MB for a 128MB flash card. - IF the nBox image came with an MD5 checksum, make sure that the copy you downloaded matches this checksum. You will need an MD5 checksum generator for this (freely available). If your checksum does not match, download the image again. - Try copying the image again. Since you are receiving a "No OS" message instead of a "No boot device" message, I think that the computer might be recognizing the drive at some level. IF that is the case, pay strong attention to your image, and how you copied it. I hope this helps.
