Shouldn't - they were built on the same machine. You can always try
rebuilding the RPM to match your system - man rpm to find the right flags.

> How can I use src.rpm instead?

Like all other .src.rpms. You install the .src.rpm, which installs the
various source files in RH's prefered locations (I misremember where that is
... /SOURCE maybe?)

Then you install from the source files - it then has nothing to do with the
rpm database.

> Using src.rpm can avoid me to install all the dependencies I got with rpm?

No. There are no spurious dependencies in the rpm, it requires the tools
and libraries you will need to build from source. In fact, building from
source requires MORE - gcc and gnu make.

No. It's a good idea to UPDATE or FRESHEN rpms, so you don't lose
customizations. But if you install code outside the rpm system, the rpm
system doesn't know anything about it.

> If needed, how can I uninstall the tar.gz?

rm <filenames>

Delete the .tgz (.tar.gz) file. Oh, you want to delete ntop? Then you need
to chase down all the files it installed (which is based on your ./configure
settings) and the files created at run time (e.g. rrd files).
