The one thing you also will need to do this is the -devel packages, which you would not need as a normal user.
Hehe, I do this a *lot*. I've been tearing my hair out this weekend trying to get an RPM for freeswan to build. I finally think I've figured out the right incantation for Dag's openswan SRPM, but I had to copy the kernel sources and make the copy buildmeister-writable as the swan stuff wants to build a kernel module and needs to build kernel files first. Joy. ;)
