You need a hub.
Or a switch than can do VLAN span back to a single port (think catalyst 2950,
3550, 6500, etc).
I don't think
your using cisco switches. Replace the switch with a 100Mbps
hub.

Subject: [Ntop] ntop Support for WANI am having an issue obtaining network statistics in a WAN using ntop. I have obtained and installed the ntop-3.0-Win32-demo.exe executable. I am able to connect to the ntop application via the web interface however I don't obtain any network statistics. I keep seeing a "No entries to display (yet)" on the various webpages. The Hosts tab does not display any of the hosts on my WAN including the laptop that I installed ntop on. This seems odd to me. The network load page does provide a graph of activity however. My network configuration is as follows:I have a WAN consisting of 3 routers (EtherFast Cable/DSL Router with 4-Port Switch) tied into a switch./--------\| Switch |\--------/| | || | | /--------\ /-----\| | +--| Router |--| LAN || | \--------/ \-----/| || | /--------\ /-----\| +----| Router |--| LAN || \--------/ \-----/|| /--------\+------| Router |\--------/| | || | | /----\| | +----| PC || | \----/| || | /----\|| +------| PC || \----/| /-----------\+--------| PC w/ntop |\-----------/The IP and host name of each machine on the WAN has been put into the hosts table of PCs (since I have no DNS server). I have connectivity (can ping) each node in the network either by name or by IP.Do you have any idea why ntop does not see packets from the other machines? Why don't the any hosts populate in the hosts table? I am very excited to use this tool. It seems to be a very powerful tool once I get the configuration down. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,Keith
