Hi There.

I have googled a bit but only found an unanswered user post regarding
this.
Maybe some could assist.

When under the Admin menu, I click on Change filter or any admin task it
requests a password.
However when entering the password it appears to fail, and asks again.

When I cancel the act I get the folowing:

Unauthorized to access the document.

Received request:

"GET /showUsers.html HTTP/1.1"

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks and Regards
Nic

What Burton's saying is that if you set up a single NetFlow "NIC" and point
a bunch of Cisco NetFlow outputs to it, it all shows up together, merged.

Now, are you asking if you can merge data from the NetFlow "NIC" with data
from physical sniffer NICs on you NTOP box? Not that I know of.....

As soon as I activate the NetFlow plug-in, interface merging is disabled. I just popped into the Switch NIC page on another NTOP install we have, and it says:

Note that the NetFlow and sFlow plugins - if enabled - force -M to be
set (i.e. they disable interface merging).

Thanks,
Jon.

It looks like Luca's cvs change allows you to define multiple netFlow
collectors as separate NICs, but it also looks like a work-in-progress - the
internals seem to be there, but the cosmetics of the interface aren't
finished.

1. No test if multiple collectors are receiving on the same port.
2. The text on Admin | Switch NIC hasn't been updated to reflect -m is
forced only for sFlow.
3. The docs haven't been updated.
4. Doesn't have inactive configuration yet.

I've installed and I am now attempting to run ntop for the first time on
Redhat 9.0 O/S. I had to download and run the rpm for libgdome.so.0, before
getting the installation to work correctly. The rpm installed the
libgdome.so.0 in the /opt/gnome/lib directory

The problem is when attempting to perform the first time settup of the ntop
user : /usr/bin/ntop -P/usr/share/ntop -u ntop -A

I get the following error message: /usr/bin/ntop: error while loading shared
libraries: libgdome.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory

I seems like ntop is looking for libgdome.so.0 in a different path or
directory. Any help will be greatly appricated.

Unless you are trying to build the skeleton xml plugin, ntop shouldn't be
looking for libgdome.

Those messages often occur when the links are messed up.

Still, /opt is an odd place for this library, /var/lib or /usr/lib seems
more standard. And /opt/gnome is probably not part of the ld resolution
path unless you have the full Gnome system installed.

Read the man ld - and follow the links in it to the configuration file
(which file it is depends on the OS/Distro/Release) and add /opt/gnome/lib
as a 'standard' library location.
