Some more info on this problem.

I have been tailing the message log and notice that this error goes
away when I remove the option --local-subnets.  I don't know if this
is the issue or not but it is very odd that it would go away when I do
this.  I will keep an eye on it for a while longer to see if the error
pops back up but this could be a good starting point maybe.
