Assuming you have a switched network, you have a few options here.  
1. On your switch, use port mirroring if it has this feature.  
or
2. Buy a network tap and place it between the switch and a link you want to
monitor. Plug your XP Ntop box on the tap. 
or
3. Place a hub between the switch and a link you want to monitor. Then, plug
your XP Ntop box on the hub.

I just installed ntop on a Windows xp sp2 machine.  I was wondering how/what
I need to change to capture data from the entire subnet and not only data
getting to my NIC card.

I am sure this is a simple and easy question but I cannot find an answer on
