An alternative is to use a Linux box running as an ethernet
bridge running ntop. In this case you don't need buy a
network tap.

Assuming you have a switched network, you have a few options
here.
1. On your switch, use port mirroring if it has this
feature.
or
2. Buy a network tap and place it between the switch and a
link you want to
monitor. Plug your XP Ntop box on the tap.
or
3. Place a hub between the switch and a link you want to
monitor. Then, plug
your XP Ntop box on the hub.

Subject: [Ntop] Beginner question

Hello,

I just installed ntop on a Windows xp sp2 machine. I was
wondering how/what
I need to change to capture data from the entire subnet and
not only data
getting to my NIC card.

I am sure this is a simple and easy question but I cannot
find an answer on
everything that I have searched.

Thanks
