Depends on what I'm trying to do with it. Normally if it crashes, I can look in the system logs and it will tell me what parameter I need to increase in order to keep it from crashing. I restrict the subnet I monitor to only IP's I care about internally, and raised the -X option in NTop, it's pretty stable this way, although I do also run a cronjob to check it's status and restart if necessary.
