The main thing you'll have to keep in mind is how much traffic you have on your network. SPANing 5Gbps of traffic to a 1Gbps interface will not work. Likewise, if your remote site is busy and all you have is a T1 back to "HQ" NetFlow will clog that link. It all depends on the size and topology of your network. I guess a way to see our network traffic would be to turn Netflow on our routers right? If so if we tuned on Netflow on our Cisco routers does anyone know if we would point all our routers to a single central Ntop install, or would we need a NTop install at each site? -------- Yup. Try reading docs/FAQ - there are articles on switched networks and SPAN port. Also read the back traffic on this issue - we discuss it quite frequently w/ new users. _______________________________________________ Ntop mailing list [email protected] http://listgateway.unipi.it/mailman/listinfo/ntop ********************************************************************** Confidential/Proprietary Note The information in this email is confidential and may be legally privileged.
