Are you on a switched network? If so, you will need to make sure your ntop box
is plugged into a "monitor" port. This may seem obvious, but you didn't
specify.

Subject: [Ntop] Newbie question - machines don't show up in stats

Hello!

I downloaded & installed ntop from
http://www.openxtra.co.uk/freestuff/ntop-xtra.php on a windows 2003 server
box with one gigabit network card. Windows lists one network connection. I
rebooted. I did not define any filters.

The ntop service has been started and collected data for about a week. Some
machines that definitely did exchange data with this machine do not show up
in the "all protocols" -> "traffic" view. These are MacOS X machines
accessing the localhosts' windows shares.

Why don't they show up? How can I fix it?

Thanks for your help!
Jörg
