If you are using this box as a sniffer, wouldn't you have two NICs? One NIC would be in promisc. mode and the other NIC would allow access to the box remotely.

Some thing of the same range as that of the port that I am mirroring from? Also, can I take my ntop console to some other station instaed of just doing a local monitoring at http://localhost:3000? I mean, within my lan, sitting on any workstation, can I open a web browser and do a http://ntop_IP:3000? _______________________________________________ Ntop mailing list [email protected] http://listgateway.unipi.it/mailman/listinfo/ntop _______________________________________________ Ntop mailing list [email protected] http://listgateway.unipi.it/mailman/listinfo/ntop
